You need to listen to your spouse and your children to see how they feel about leaving home. Once you arrive at your new destination, try to develop family rituals that will help everyone settle. That could be something as simple as taking one day a week for you to all go out and explore your new city.
3. Understand your new working environment
Once you arrive in your new location, take time to learn about your new company, and the culture that they have adopted. Most companies have a major internet presence nowadays. So it shouldn’t take much effort to get online and find out a little more about your new employers. This task is not one that will be completed quickly, and that is find, just as long as you make a continued effort to fit in.
4. Learn the culture
The easiest way to learn about the culture of a new environment is to spend some time with the locals. When you are out and about exploring your new home, strike up conversations with the locals to get an idea of the do’s and don’ts that make up their culture. This will help you fit in sooner, and will help you avoid making social mistakes.
